The Observation Edit page is where you can change or correct parts of your observation. It's organized by three main aspects of the observation: Evidence, Identification, and Other Data. Let's break it down below. 

Evidence

Photo or sound evidence, as well as location and date, are found here.

Tap on the large + button to add photos or sounds to the observation. Remember that these should be of the same organism from the same encounter.

Tap on a photo or sound to view it and optionally remove it. Tap and hold on a photo or sound to drag and reorder it.

Tap on the location to edit it. A locality note may also be shown as well. Location is usually added automatically, but you can edit it if you need to.

Date and time should be added automatically. Tap on this to edit if necessary.

Identification

Each observation should have an identification, that is, a connection between when and where you saw something and how that something is attached to the Tree of Life. That identification is shown here.

You can tap on the pencil icon to edit the identification, or the X icon to remove it. 

If your observation has no identification, you will see this:

Tap on "Add an ID" to get identification suggestions or to search for a taxon. Or, tap one one of the iconic taxa on the right to add a broad identification to your observation, such as plants, birds, insects, fungi, etc. Adding some kind of identification helps people who specialize in identifying certain kinds of organisms find your observation, so even if you can only say, "It's an insect," that helps other people help you.

Other Data

Tap on "Geoprivacy" to edit the geoprivacy setting for your observation. Learn more about geoprivacy.

Tap on "Organism is wild" to change the wild/captive state. You should label the observation as "Captive/Cultivated" if it's a pet, garden plant, zoo animal, or something similar. Read more about why this is important.

Tap on "Add optional notes" to write notes about the observation. These notes are public, like everything else about your observations with the possible exception of the coordinates.
