Computer vision is the process of teaching computers to recognize patterns in images. iNaturalist launched its first computer vision demo in April 2017.
iNaturalist uses computer vision systems trained on users' photos and identifications in order to provide automated taxon identification suggestions. The model's identification abilities reflect the collective human expertise of the iNaturalist community.
