Why was my account suddenly suspended? I didn't violate any rules.

On iNaturalist, all accounts with fewer than 4 Research Grade observations are considered potential spam accounts and their content is run through an automated spam filter. Sometimes this filter can make a mistake and flag it as spam, therefore suspending your account. This is especially true for repetitive content, like posting the same comments or messages, or links in any text you post, including that of your user profile.

If this happens to you, try waiting a little while before logging in again, as iNaturalist Curators will sometimes find these mistakes and mark your account as a non-spammer and reinstate it. You can also submit a ticket to iNaturalist Support we'll take a look.
